This software updates Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.0.0 - Ver. 1.2.0 to Ver. 1.3.1. Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.0.0-1.2.0 must be installed before proceeding with this update. Short Movie Creator software is only supplied on CD with Nikon 1 series digital cameras.

Short Movie Creator is a movie editing software application that enables you to easily create original movies with the effects and background music of your choice, using images and movies taken with a digital camera. Short Movie Creator analyzes the registered source files and automatically edits the movie based on the settings that you apply. Movies created with Short Movie Creator are referred to as 'short movies'.

Modifications that apply to both the Windows and Mac versions

• When short movies recorded to a memory card using the Create movie…>Save to camera (memory card) option were played back on a Nikon 1 V2, sound sometimes did not play. This issue has been resolved.

Modification that applies to Windows version only

• It has been confirmed that there are no problems with operation under Windows 8.1.

• Support for the Nikon 1 V2 has been added.

  Windows and Mac versions
  - Movies created with Save to camera (memory card) selected in the Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.2.0 or earlier Create Movie dialogue box cannot be played back with the Nikon 1 V2. To play back such movies with the Nikon 1 V2, they must be created using Short Movie Creator Ver. 1.3.0.
  - MOV format movie files (MotionJPEG) recorded with COOLPIX series cameras are not supported.
  - Movies recorded at a setting of 1080/60i are handled as 1080/30p movies.
  Windows versions only
  MOV-format movie files created with Nikon Movie Editor included in ViewNX 2 Ver. 2.1.2 or earlier are not supported.
  MOV-format movie files created using the Convert Motion Snapshot to Movie... option in the File menu with ViewNX 2 Ver. 2.3.0 or earlier are not supported.
  Mac versions only
  AVI-format movie files recorded with the COOLPIX L15, L16, L18, L19, L20, L21, L22, and S520 are not supported.
  

• File Playback
  Windows and Mac versions
  - Audio will not be played back on movies captured with the D7000 with the firmware version 1.01 or older, and the D3100.
  - In order for a user to use sample music when logged in under a user account other than that used to install the software, the user must first log in to the account used to install the software and copy the sample music file to a shared location.
  - Playback of movie files created by Short Movie Creator for transfer to a camera (memory card) is not guaranteed on all third party applications.
  Mac versions only
  - When previewing projects created using full-HD data, playback may seem to stutter, or be slow, if the computer's level of performance does not support sufficiently fast preview display. Movies will be created normally.
  
• Saving files
  Windows and Mac versions
  - Movies in an aspect ratio other than 4:3 or 16:9 will be converted to a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. Because movies captured by the Nikon 1 V1 during still image capture are in an aspect ratio of 3:2, the aspect ratio will not be preserved.
  
• Adding content
  Windows and Mac versions
  - Up to 20 music files can be added. Up to a combined total of 50 still image and movie files can be added as source files.
  However, there is a limit of 20 movie files for the Mac version.

You must have Administrator authority when installing this software. Exit Short Movie Creator, turn off all virus-checking software and all other applications that may be running before proceeding with this upgrade.

This Updater Software cannot be used to install a different language version, or to modify the language version, of the application currently installed.
